Bad News Starts Weekend

Things in general seemed to be looking a little better or at least was not slipping backwards yesterday...until...

The text message from Iohn could not have been more disheartening. The Kia had broke down along side the road on US 41 as he was coming back from Terre Haute. He had gone up to have the Kia put on the meter at AutoZone. He found out the #1 and #3 plugs were not firing. I had told him I thought there was a problem with the plugs. Now it was confirmed.

After the meter readin, he got in the car to drive back home. The car wouldn't start. He was able to get a jump and it started right up. The battery is fairly new, just replaced in November. As drove south on 41, Iohn said the radio went out. The speedometer started spinning like crazy. He lost power in the engine. The speed dropped to 35 and he couldn't get it over that low speed.

The vehicle finally just quit as he managed to steer the Kia off to the side of the road. A guy working at the fence company which was where he broke helped Iohn check everything. They tried jumping the vehicle no good. They checked the wires, cables. The Kia wouldn't go into reverse or drive. Iohn was able to put the key in the shifter, which allows the vehicle to be put in neutral when it locks.

The guy at the fence company found a chain. They managed to tow the vehicle down the road and cross over to park it in the Boot City parking lot. Managed to start the Kia, but when Iohn pressed down on the gas it died immediately.

The Kia has set at Boot City since yesterday. Not sure how we are going to get it back to the Den. Iohn is working 37 hours over the next 6 days plus has to be at his lawyer's office on Monday.

What are we to do now?

Iohn's tax check has not come in yet. That would help, but it's still in the pipeline.

So now on Saturday, we are at a quandary not knowing what to do. We need a vehicle. We need to get the Kia home. We need to either get the Kia working or get it sold. We need to then get a more reliable vehicle.

And yeah...all of this is playing havoc on me physically and mentally. Can we say a volcano in my head getting ready to erupt?
